Psalm 119

So I want to commit to blogging at least once but hopefully twice a week or 3 times if I want to beat Emily, but its not about that...It will be pointless if I have nothing good to say right?

Anyway I just want to say something real quick about Psalm 119, its pretty much the longest chapter in the Bible, but I think its probably one of the greatest and maybe its the longest because God really wanted us to totally take this in.

It talks about loving God's law, keeping his commands, and finding joy in his decrees. On one hand I would say no way like how is that freedom? But deeper thought about it says It would be stupid not to take our freedom and love God's word with it. God's word, his command and decrees are only given to help us live, better! Reading through Psalm may take a while and seem redundant after while, but its God saying "I love you, I love you, I love you." And how can we not still not understand? --most of the time I don't even want to read...and suddenly I get a revelation of his love for me, and it so crazy that God would love, provide for me. He wants the same for all of us. I pray that God would give me and you indescribable passion and understanding of His word.

Ps 119:59 I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws.

119:27 Truly I love your commands more than gold, even finest gold.

119:103 How sweet your words taste to me, they are sweeter than honey.

119:105 Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and light unto my path.

119:165 Those who love God's instruction have great peace and do not stumble.

Live it.

Show me where I belong

God, I'll be 22 tomorrow. You've marked out everything that has happen to me in the past, and everything that will happen to me in the future. God I pray that I will not live another day without you.I want you to be the focus of my day, everyday. I know life gets busy and time goes by fast, but I pray that my life would never be too busy for my creator, my savior, my God-- who has everything work together for good, b/c I love him. Rom 8:22

I pray this year, you would teach me to fear you and humble myself at your feet. You deserve all of me.

You are my refuge and shield, and your word is my source of hope. Ps 119:114

======================================================
"The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God will make poor headway in seeking him the rest of the day. If God is not first in our thought and efforts in the morning, He will be in the last place the remainder of the day."

God's Love

God placed a desire in me to create a blog just to write and share what He's doing and life lessons I have learned. To be quite honest, it has been in the back of my head for a few years now. Its 2011 and Im committing.

I read a cool excerpt from my Bible today:

God is shaping us right now for future responsibilities. Maybe we can't see it, but doing the same dull chores day after day can shape us for an awesome purpose.

I was reading in Psalm about David, how he was just a shepherd boy and God made him a shepherd over all Israel. So all that time of field work (literally) paid off and he became King. God had awesome things planned for him but used everything David had learned along the way. Not that working in fields isn't cool, but Im sure being King was much better.

So just when you think you're tired of the redundant lifestyle, imagine what God wants to do with all you have gone through and what he could be preparing you for. But also know to be in step with God, is to be always willing to take the next step.

This year, I really hope to grow in my relationship with God and Im trusting that he will use my dull life for his great purpose. I hope you will too!
